GOLS

The Georgie-Odette Leadership Symposium is an annual event targeted at students and business professionals bringing together proven business leaders who speak on various aspects of successful leadership. The Windsor leadership conference, held at the Odette School of Business, aims to connect students with proven professionals who can share the insights and intricacies of being a leader in today’s fast paced world. The student run initiative is powered and supported by the Richard Peddie Leadership Initiative. The initiative has been put in place at the University of Windsor to help bridge the gap between the world of education and the world of professionals and leaders.
Odette Debate
The Odette Debate Team is an organization that allows students to discuss relevant issues and consider multiple perspectives while practicing presentation and analytic skills. The team competes in tournaments across the United States as a part of the American Parliamentary Debate Association and represents the Odette School of Business with pride. At weekly practices, members of the team prepare for these tournaments by creating cases that focus on topics including current events, business issues, policy, economics and the environment.

Odette Finance Association
The Odette Finance Association (OFA) is a student run association that provides the opportunity for members to become esteemed finance experts. The OFA's goal is to expose members to the finance industry through internal and global competitions such as Capitalize for Kids, RITC Rotman Interactive Trader Competition and CME Group Trading Challenge. Using Bloomberg software, the Club will challenge students in the research of different financial instruments and to collaborate results with other members.

Odette High School Leadership Initiative

OHLI is a program that sends University students from the Odette School of Business in to high school classrooms across the Windsor-Essex community. There, they mentor grade 12 business students to help them develop key leadership competencies, such as critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and time management. This program challenges the students to manage their time and work efficiently as a team. It helps improve their presentation and communication skills, and also gives them the chance to network with University students, professors, and business professionals.
Odette Human Resources Association
The Odette Human Resources Association (OHRA) looks to help students expand their networking opportunities and increase their professional development. The OHRA provides Odette students with all necessary resources to obtain a strong network base and future/potential career opportunities. This includes providing students with the resources necessary to obtain their CHRP designation and join the
HRPA as we work closely with the HRPAW student liaison.

Odette Marketing Association
Odette Marketing is a student-run club within the Odette School of Business that focuses on all aspects of Marketing and Advertising. We are a resource to both full-time and part-time undergraduates looking to concentrate in Marketing, or to those who want to learn how to market themselves. Our mission is to enrich the Odette student experience by hosting events that will provide students with new insight and opportunities. By working closely with Faculty and Alumni of the University we are able to increase
networking opportunities for both students and local businesses.
JSOSIF
The John Simpson Odette Student Investment Fund is the University of Windsor's only student managed-student run investment fund with $230,000 in real capital under management. JSOSIF is a student run portfolio that manages funds donated by a private investor (John Simpson, Managing Director of Ridgewood Capital Asset Management, and alumnus of Odette). JSOSIF invests in a range of international equities, fixed income securities and exchange-traded funds (“ETF”). The Odette School of Business uses JSOSIF as an educational tool for undergraduate and graduate business students looking to concentrate in Finance. JSOSIF’s purpose is to create an experiential learning environment in dealing with trading in capital markets and provides exposure to several strategies in managing a well-diversified and constantly monitored portfolio.

Windsor SOS
SOS is a student run organization that offers Exam-Aid tutorial sessions for various university courses. Students pay a donation to attend each session, which entails a 3- hour long tutor session, an Exam-Aid package with all relevant course material, as well as a practice test. This donation goes directly towards purchasing the raw supplies for building sustainable education projects in Latin America. We have raised 2.5 million dollars, and completed 227 projects in over 95 communities in the last 10 years!
